  • Don’t wear too much as a little goes a long way when it comes to print.
  • Match the brint with something in balance.
  • Mix prints in the same scale.
  • A bold leopard skirt looks chic with a classic cashmere twin set or black turtleneck. A red satin blouse is a glam pairing.

  • Go for design integrity over quantity. There’s a new breed of girls who get obsessed with “shopping haul” videos and hoard away all sorts of trendy extras rather than focus on style and how that items works in their wardrobe. More is not necessarily better.

  • If you’re not super adept at style, figure out a way to get the best part of the trend.
  • If you are rather fashion adept and edgy, you can layer the trend on but otherwise for most, bend the trend to suit you.
  • Create your own look rather than cookie-cutter a total look for less. Get inspired and don’t be a clone.
  • Take the essence of the trend, be inspired and figure out how to put it together to work on you!
  • When it comes to prints, natural fibers like cotton, wool or silk are best.
  • Be unexpected, like wearing a leopard trench over a business suit or a leopard jacket over a gown.
  • Never wear leopard spandex- the print explodes over your boobs.
  • Avoid stamped on prints and only wear prints that are woven into the fabric.
  • Easy does it with metallic- burnish gold or platinum look classier.
  • Mix it up and don’t go matchy-matchy when it comes to something bold, vibrant or shiny.
  • Scarf prints are a great way to play with wearing mixed prints.
  • The scale of prints have to do with your physical size.
  • Petite women look best in smaller prints that don’t overwhelm their figure.
  • When you mix prints, be sure the ground colors match or the base colors compliment each other.
  • Mix large or bold prints with smaller prints to counter-balance.
  • Mixing prints is almost an art form.
  • If you’re unsure, the one time that wearing a “pre-made and packaged” outfit works is when a designer puts it all together for you, like the black and white Milly outfit pictured here.
  • If you’re still skittish opt for something discreet, like the signature Dolce & Gabbana leopard lining.
