Before tonight’s extravagant Sonia Rykiel for H&M fashion show at the Grand Palais in Paris, with a set of giant rabbits, balloon trees, huge inflatable poodles and a sparkling Eiffel Tower, there are the model fittings.
We’ve got that sneak peak behind-the-scenes video for you with some of the 60 amazing girls in tonight’s show!
From what we can see the lingerie and accessories feature many of the hallmarks of Sonia Rykiel French style- stripes, playful jewel embellishments, and fun berets. The look is fresh and never over-stated, but always classic and oh so French.
For a bit of fashion history, “Sonia Rykiel is a true fashion icon who invented a signature style around femininity, Parisian chic and modernity. She has an attitude that inspires admiration among women of all ages around the world,” says H&M creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch.
The much anticipated collaboration of Sonia Rykiel with cheap chic powerhouse H&M is a two-part guest design series. On the runway tonight and in selected H&M stores on December 5, is the Sonia Rykiel for H&M lingerie and accessories collection. The second collection of knits for big and little girls arrives for Spring 10.
