  • Mountain Upsweeps… Ok, it’s a knit beanie

It’s a cold snap for sure. As you’re reading this I’m packing up my house out West to head back to New York. Normally, I have a bit of “what is worn in Wyoming, stays in Wyoming” wardrobe. But, not this time. It’s freezing back home as it is in a good part of the country. Record freezing in some parts. Ouch. So, instead of leaving my super-duper warm knit beanies out here, I’m taking them home along with some…

Happy New Year 2014 video message from Sharon Haver

Happy New Year Wishes… 2014 and new resolutions have begun as today heralds the start of a new year ahead and a new you… Never say never. Growing up in Brooklyn, NY as a total city girl I never thought that one day I would have a foothold in the Cowboy State! Yes, the teen who once went hiking in platform snakeskin stilettos (cousins, do you remember?) spends a chunk of the year out west. How lucky is my son…

  • Get Some Drama: Dark smokey eyes are perfect for New Year’s Eve

For me, the easiest way to glam up any look is by way of a black rimmed smokey eye. My preferences change from time to time, currently I’m loving a smudge of Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour and then using an angled brush with a light dusting of black shadow to blend and define. At the moment, I’m drawn to this method over my usual black pencil, powder, and maybe even liner.  That’s how I do it. Last month Jaimie Alexander took…

  • White Space + Top 2013 Style Tips

It’s that time of year where my family and I head out to our place in Wyoming. A high-energy ski vacation for them. Seeking the solace in white space for me. Don’t get me wrong, I do my winter sports days but it’s more the peace and tranquility found in the quiet of snow that I love best. The magnificent open vistas and the white space where I find the luxury to reflect, regroup, and renew for the year ahead….

My Inbox (well, “Promotions” box thanks to Google sorting) is flooding with press releases about all the Radiant Orchid items coming out soon since the big announcement yesterday. You see, Emerald Green is so last year. I wasn’t really dancing to Tangerine Tango from the year before that. But I can cotton up to Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2014, drumroll please, Radiant Orchid. Yes, the color is lovely. But why wait until Spring when every designer from clothes…

  • Fuzzy Wuzzy, it’s time for new shearling boots

    Frye 'Valerie' Bootie

Never say never. Truth be told, personally, I’m not much of a shearling boot / classic UGG fan. A few seasons ago, I stumbled upon a pair of Zadig & Voltaire gray shearling booties with the right amount of edge and back zipper slimness to avoid the generic girl at the mall feel. It was right after my foot surgery and I was still pretty swollen so the soft bootie was exactly what I needed or more important, what I…
