I’ll Have What She’s Having: Bellecore bodybuffer, an anti-cellulite product that is so good, it becomes addictive!
Supermodel Nancy Donahue, a refined blonde in the way that makes the straightest of men drop to their knees is the genius behind Bellecore body buffers. Nancy and I have known each other for years as we share a mutual friend, Vincent Gagliostro, art director of FocusOnStyle.
The thing is that when it comes to reducing cellulite, someone as lithesome as Nancy could be the last person who I would think would need to concern herself with orange peel skin.
I was wrong.
Nancy’s discovery in the anti-cellulite wars is the Bellecore bodybuffer, a magical little gizmo that takes 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes at night (ok, I’ve been slacking a bit on that side) that makes your skin GLOW, and more.
I asked Nancy to go behind the scenes as to what the Bellecore bodybuffers are really about in this exclusive interview about what has fast become my new favorite beauty product …
FoS: Nancy, you are as gorgeous and slim now as in your supermodel days. It is hard to image for most of us that cellulite could even be a concern. How did you come up with the idea of the BelleCore bodybuffer and go about developing it?
ND: The long and short of how the BelleCore bodybuffers were developed is that I was a personal trainer, yoga teacher and Pilates teacher. I was training a client who had liposuction done on her belly. Her massage therapist gave her this “quirky,” old-fashioned device to use to get rid of the scar tissue and edema (fluid build up) on her belly.
My client told me to use it for muscle massage as I was doing a lot of marathons -6, and a ton of triathlons-100, at the time. I used it and my muscle recovery was amazing and it totally helped with muscle soreness.
I gave it to my friend and future partner now, and she noticed a huge difference in her cellulite. Even her husband said her legs looked smoother.
So, we asked our mutual friend who is a plastic surgeon why and how this works. He explained that by using our technology-random orbital oscillation, the dermal bridges are stretched and loosened , the fat and toxins can be released into the body, the dimples caused by at the anchor points of theses dermal bridges are diminished and you end up with smoother legs. Muscles recover quicker after exercise and it also helps with lymphatic drainage.
We then went to Harvard and MIT engineers, gave them the basic technology and told them to make it bigger, better and more effective.
It went through 3 years of testing before it was brought to market in January 2010 and by May 2010 we had an exclusive with Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman New York. From there, we went to Harrod’s of London, Colette Paris and Bloomingdales.

FoS: At a certain age, stimulating collagen is a treat come true. How do BelleCore bodybuffers work and what are its benefits besides reducing the appearance of cellulite?
ND: There are 2 versions of BelleCore bodybuffers: HoneyBelle and babyBelle, both are as powerful, but babyBelle is smaller and designed to be used on-the-go, when you’re traveling or going to the Gym. babyBelle also has a built in convertor/transformer so you can easily take it abroad and just add a country specific plug adapter.
They both exfoliate, rejuvenate and smooth the skin, soothe sore muscles through deep tissue massage, help to diminish signs of cellulite and keep them at bay and help with decreasing edema by increasing lymphatic drainage. They also increases microcirculation, flushing the muscles and skin with fresh, oxygenated blood. There is nothing like them on the market today. And, they feel great !
FoS: I love the idea of an at-home treatment that is easy to use and pleasantly addictive! What salon treatment that is said to help diminish the appearance of cellulite would BelleCore bodybuffers be the most similar? Endermologie? Lymphatic drainage massage, etc?
ND: Like I said, there really is nothing like it. Endermologie is an “office treatment” that hurts quite a bit. Lymphatic drainage massage could be the most similar but of course, BelleCore bodybuffers are hand held electrical devices that are easy and convenient to use whenever you want.
FoS: Anything else?
ND: We just launched the HoneyBelle Fit and babyBelle Fit versions which are being marketed to the huge male and female fan base we have built up in the athletic world. By attending different marathon and fitness events and trade shows we found a definite need to market our bodybuffers to athletes of all types: runners, dancers, yoga and Pilates enthusiasts, golfers, cyclists.
You name the sport or activity and the participant will benefit from the body buffers deep tissue massage to warm up pre exercise, and to de-stress sore muscles afterwards by flushing muscles with fresh blood which gets rid of metabolic waste build up. This speeds recovery and performance goes up.
As I have said, the BelleCore bodybuffers are breakthrough beauty/wellness/fitness body tools: there is nothing else like them on the market today.
