Yves Saint Laurent (and above)

Luxe leather made for one of the season’s biggest stories as it was seen on top runways like never before but the best options came from Yves Saint Laurent.

Paired with proper, refined silhouettes, YSL’s latest outing featured a trove of confident tailoring with precise leather accents for a look that was far from aggressive while being decadently seductive.

Here, leather came in its most wearable, reality-minded form with natty suits and jackets that are destined to become go-to’s when considering something of the best quality that doesn’t scream fashion, fashion, fashion. -Just good taste.

Carven-

The Carven man continues on for Fall 2012 with a typically cute take on nerdy haute bourgeois fashion with a line full of irresistible separates in proper proportions.

Vaguely collegiate and preppy, the label’s latest outing featured additions of lush royal blue, swing coats complete with attachable gloves and wonderfully cute layers rendered in fresh, must-have combinations.

It made for another winner full of the label’s signature naïveté and refined take on Parisian déshabillé while boasting a remarkable verve of simple elegance.

Lanvin-

While as a whole Lanvin’s propositions for Fall 2012 seem a tad heavy handed, there’s something to be said about the intrinsic beauty to be found once the collection is broken down and separated piece by piece.

By mixing high & low, the techno sportif with dandy go-to’s, the outing boasted a heady dose of reality minded fashion that had a hybrid appeal as many of the pieces could work in a myriad of ways on all types of customers.

Rounded jackets and tops full of unexpected, exaggerated volume like those also seen at Valentino made for a play on the silhouette and caught our eye as something new, noteworthy and covetable.
