Another Michael Kors collection exuding American luxury hits the runway; this time it is dressed as fall 2012, and not a single detail of opulence has been overlooked.

Plush cashmere sweaters, soft brushed wools, sequins, leather, and more fur than you can find backcountry. Fur was a major statement, and not shearling, but long hair furs with shine and tons of volume – forget global warming! The classic warm camels and creamy whites are represented along with crimson, black and heathered greys; a very tight palette.

The line certainly feels like high-end, all American glamour – but dare I say, it is a bit older woman, with Upper East Side sophistication and modesty that this line seems to cater to. Looks are very covered up with high collars, long skirts, maximum coverage sweaters, and all that fluffy fur. That’s not to say our younger jet-setting girl can’t pick and pull some pieces, but it does not appear that she is the main audience.

The poncho comes back in bold stripes and marled yarns are heavily used in the sweaters. A few structured leather shells give some edge when paired with a large plaid circle skirt, and the red and black windowpane check ankle pants can certainly be rocked with a sheer black blouse and ankle booties. since the line is so fur heavy, if you really want to sexify things I would say just wear a fur trench commando!

The 1% can be stunningly dressed in lavish and refined Kors. It screams luxury for a woman of a certain age. Regardless, Michael Kors came out looking pleased and his collection will no doubt be eaten up.— Alix Kivlin
