Nanette Lepore Spring 2013 Color Splash With Every Body Shape In Mind

Nanette Lepore Spring 2013 Runway Review: Spring 2013 has Nanette Lepore written allover it with splashes of color, classical-gone-psychedelic prints, and killer swimwear capsule.

The bright peaches and pinks, against jade green and citron, balanced with and oyster grey give this line outstanding Spring potential!  Flirty and modern make a good mix here with cut-out neckline, zip front dresses in oversize, bright baroque prints, black and white gingham plaids in cropped jackets and fitted ankle pants, and short, waist cinched silhouettes.

The faded effect on the prints caught my eye as something new to look out for come Spring; this was also seen at Rebecca Minkoff, and both designers executed it well.  Instead of colorblocking, we have print-blocking, and it’s a fantastically, overwhelming look taking the allover print trend to a new level.  I feel fairly certain this will be my new go-to for swimwear, as I was drooling over the printed, high hip one pieces and bikinis – something I didn’t expect to see in the mix of short suits and mini dresses.  Overall in the line the black banding gives a collection a sharp edge, literally, and it helps define the silhouette which makes the pieces very flattering on all body types.
