Sonia Rykiel 2013: Knitwear inspiration right now with highlights from the Paris Spring 2013 Runways
As the knitwear label that Sonia Rykiel founded in the late 1960’s has just changed owners, the label opted out of a runway show presentation, yet the outing was a tour de force none the less.

What made the notion of comforting knits all the more covetable here was a certain sense of discipline as each look was on par with the seasons return to minimalism while boasting a cool, unexpected edge. That edge shone through in knits that were sublimely simple with shredded techniques to update the labels often intricate way with knits.

In a range of ivory, cool azure blue and coral, the outing also ticked off the seasons fixation with Japanese inspired kimono dressing with a finessed take on the trend that was admirable.
