Glass Couture Shoes are fantasy footwear to wear and behold

Introducing Q by Pasquale: Wearable Designer Glass Footwear This is the absolute shoe fantasy! Five years in the making, this collection is composed of the finest Murano Italian glass, 24-carat gold beads and gold leaf detailing, and fine Italian leather. Take what you knew about Cinderella's glass slippers and throw it out the window. Designer and “cobbler to the stars” Pasquale Fabrizio has created an incredibly posh, decadent, and most importantly durable glass shoe that puts fairy tale imagery in a whole new light. What is also amazingly clever, is that Pasquale designed the sole of the shoe to be completely clear. When you look at the profile of the shoe, you can see right through it. Every angle of

Color Trend: Blue from Blueberry to Cobalt

Fashion is getting a case of the blues… Say goodbye to the plum and hello to the blueberry! The color of the moment is rich, fabulous cobalt blue seen on the likes of Beyonce on Vogue’s April cover to fashionistas on the street. We first saw it come up during award season when Freida Pinto wore a striking John Galliano gown to the Oscars. What is so great about this shade is that it compliments a wide array of skin types. Whether you’re a pale skinned red-head or an olive toned brunette, you’re sure to look fabulous in this eye-catching color. Right now you can find clothing, shoes, and accessories in a shade of blueberry which is great for those

Los Angeles Style on a Budget: Naven in Color

Bright Lights and Minis, Oh My! One of the hottest trends this season has been far and away the bold use of color and the latest collection by LA-based twin designers Kym and Alexis McClay have definitely hit that nail on the head. Their line Naven, whose name comes from a city in Ireland where their family is from, is a collection of gorgeous and absolutely covetable pieces. Their bold use of neon yellow, hot pink, lime, purple, and royal blue is definitely what grabs your attention first but upon further inspection I was pleased to find that the construction and detail was absolutely impeccable. The fabrics included silks, deconstructed dresses, and a touch of iridescent shantung. One sweetheart boustier

Hometown Style: The 90’s Are Back in Los Angeles, fashion that is!

Volcom Does Not Disappoint … There's a breath of fresh air to the LA scene thanks to the true fashion feast in store at the launch of Volcom's new denim collection, The event was held at the LA Volcom store and hosted by NYLON Magazine. The looks were a combination of 90’s grunge and 50’s greaser with tomboy pieces mixed in. My favorite pieces had to be the shoulder studded jean vest, the cream studded motorcycle jacket, and of course the tie-dye skinnys. Stud details were everywhere from jackets, to jeans, to shoes and really added that tough ‘Tank Girl’ vibe. Colored denim also made a huge appearance with cropped vintage wash vests and lightweight striped skinny jeans. The denim

Michael Jackson Auction: Thrilled!

The King of Pop up close, personal, and for sale… It is hard pressed to argue the creative genius of Michael Jackson. No doubt that he is rather Off the Wall. However, what is patterned Bad is what keeps us fascinated with the living legend himself and in want of more old school MTV. Michael Jackson’s showmanship and iconic performance costumes have created a lasting impression that through the years have proved to be both artistically and musically timeless. His personal life aside, the man is an amazing talent. Fast-forward two and a half decades later– my gosh it doesn't seem that long– and those MJ red military jackets have continued to loiter as a trendy fashion statement since last

Hey Vicky, sweet and sexy loungwear is getting busy

Kelly Nishimoto Launches Cute Booty… Victoria’s Secret move over, there's another cute homebody around with a to-die-for tush! Los Angeles designer Kelly Nishimoto launched her Cute Booty lougewear collection at a winter wonderland party for the fashion savvy. There were models walking around dressed in her fabulous bootylicious clothes and sporting the most adorable and soft knit caps and scarves also from the collection. I have to say, these accessories made me wish I lived near the snow because they were the most utterly soft and plush way to bundle up while still looking totally winter cute. The lovely ladies were also handing out cute knick-knacks such as I heart Kelly Nishimoto buttons and pink and white stunner shades made

LA Fashion Week: Lana Fuchs Runway Review, Spring 2008

A Couture Wonderland… The Lana Fuchs Couture fashion show was an opulent mash of party dresses, gowns, bold prints and colors, ruffles, fringe, and so much more! I do love, however, that they kept the make-up and hair minimal at best so that all the attention could be focused on the clothing. The hair was pulled away from the face, smooth but loosely set. A nude lip and cat eyes were all they needed to top it off.   There was a great little selection of printed dresses on the runway that I couldn’t get my mind off. My favorite was the sweetheart party dress (pictured) with a floral print that was suitable for dinner or dancing and can fit

LA Fashion Week: Whitley Kros runway review

Sleepy Spring… Attending the Whitley Kros Spring 2009 fashion show was like being invited to a posh slumber party. The models lightly glided down the runway with messy mopped up hair thrown in a tiny little twisted bun. The make up was minimal with kisses of peach.   If this is what spring is going to be about, then we are definitely in for a treat! The clothes were all sleepwear inspired with loose fits and delicious printed silks. I saw quite a few loose mini sleep shorts in shades of cream, teal, and floral prints. The dolman sleeve was very present, as well as menswear inspired blouses. My favorite pieces had to be the long legged rompers. A sleeker

Hair Accessories Alert: It’s All About The Hair…

I’ve been seeing a lot of amazing hair accessories lately that put hats to shame. And what is great about them is that you suddenly have a covetable head of hair with little effort! Let's look to Project Runway's Kenley Collins for inspiration. Kenley has been sporting fabulous oversized feather hair accessories that keep her looking Betty Paige retro yet chic. The hair accessory trend started this summer when it was all about the thin braided hippie head wrap. You know you’ve seen it on everyone from Ashlee Simpson to your co-worker, and while that look is cute and ultra easy to pull off, its time for a change. Right now in Los Angeles, the ultimate fall-back comfy casual outfit
