Flare Pants

The flare leg pant  has become a workwear staple. Add a higher heel and a bare shouldered top and you have a perennial style godsend.  Just look how pretty & chic Gwyneth Paltrow looks above, in her legs for days style that is just a tad crisper at the hemline for a bit of edge. Hard to deny its staying power.

Floral & Fauna Print Pants

Print pants in almost every mix and match combo are no longer for the fashionably adept.  If you are a bit shy in the combo department, try a simple shirt over a pair of floral or muted camo print pants to tone down the pattern as inspired by Annet Malherbe at Cannes and Sarah Jessica Parker in New York above.

The New Crop Pants

These are by no means of the mumsy cropped pants variety! Making a big impact for next resort 2014, the new cropped pants are either a foreshortened flare (not the best for those with short legs) or a play on volume by way of a full and tapered leg that looks best resting above a pointy toe wedge pump to elongate the leg line. Frankly, I’m dying for the Chloe pants and sleeveless blazer, above right.

Straight Leg Pants

No wardrobe should be without a go-to pair of straight leg pants. They are a fantastic staple to pair with something feminine like a peplum top, or a modern tank. Flats, pumps, or platforms all look right. Classic.

The Fos Team loved the white palazzo pant when Rachel Zoe showed them for Spring and adore them more in lighter weight fabrications for summer. Ok, so I can hear my mother saying, “you’re cleaning the sidewalk with your pants,” but as long as that hem stays pristine this look is going strong into resort 2014. Thanks, Chloé! Here’s how to keep your whites clean without marrying the dry cleaner.
