There’s no secret that we are fans of Chloe at FoS.
Under the new creative direction of Clare Waight Keller, the directional message from a go-to label continues to shine.
The reason: Chloe continually delivers wearable, uber stylish clothes that are flattering on a modern woman, and this time around, more stream-lined. to smart wardrobe building.
Take for instance, the red dress pictured left.
It continues the figure-friendly long, lean pleated dresses from spring. The silhouette moves away from the body with a soft double weight for early fall in a very cheery, brilliant shade of tomato red; a perfect accomplice to the warm skin tone shades in the rest of the collection and a boost to your complexion!
Paired with perfectly sculpted black stacked heel boots, this is ABSOLUTELY a go-to outfit that you will live in and love how you look wearing that boasts a classic silhouette yet still remain refreshingly modern.

Chloe Pre-Fall 2012 Lookbook Photos:
In their words…
“For pre fall, I took inspiration from a collection of images taken by the photographer Gary Winogrand who captured beautiful candid shots in the late sixties early seventies of women on the streets of Manhattan.
The mix of the two different eras of fashion worn by women at that time was really interesting. This inspired me to create a collection that has a clash of sixties graphic modernity with the urban ease of the seventies. Boyish mini and maxi proportions worn in an effortless way with a fluid feminine spirit.” –Clare Waight Keller
The history behind the label: Since its launch by Gaby Aghion, an Egyptian-born Parisian in 1952, Chloé has been synonymous with a graceful and effortless attitude embraced by modern women with an independent mind.
Clare Waight Keller, Chloé’s new creative director, marked her debut for spring-summer 2012 by instilling a new fluidity and ease within the modern Chloe template. Moving into pre-fall 2012, Keller adds a playful sense of proportion and a sophisticated edge to her confident and luxurious take on Chloe.
Pre-Fall 2012: Wardrobe standards are maximized and minimized for a subtle contrast in proportions pairing oversized coats with cigarette pants and pencil skirts. To enhance this, mini and maxi checks from Prince of Wales to houndstooth, are mixed and matched.
Throughout the collection, a palette of warm skin tones infused by rusts, from pink to tomato, looks particularly fresh with a sunny, candied lemon yellow accent and graphic black and white.
Spring’s long, lean pleat dress story carries forward, now in soft, warm double weight cady. Layers of scallops, in silk crepe de chine create a delicate, scaled texture for dresses and separates with a three-dimensional effect.
In the collection’s graphic spirit, egg-shape dresses, coats and capes combine with skinny, elongated shapes, while conversational prints in three versions coordinate blouses, jackets, skirts and trousers. Knitwear is intricately textured for a light and fluffy, 3-dimensional look from scallops to oversize eyelet, waffled angora and fringed, ethnic stripes for cardigans and body-tracing bias sweaters.
Leathers also maximize texture. Combinations of long and short hair shearling with wool show in tone-on-tone patchwork constructions for reversible jackets and coats, while bright leather, in candied rust and lemon, is a stand out, and rubbery leather gives a rounded, contemporary look to blousons.
Fur is light and mixed including fox patched in strips on knit for a fluffy sweater-jacket in tones of rust black and white and a blend of raccoon and mink for a shaved and longhair pattern coat.
Bags are ample and graphic in chevron stripes recalling Charlie Brown’s iconic sweater, or houndstooth check with double chain straps. The high heel loafer has amusing two-way fringe, or shows in color block, and boots feature a slightly ssculptured stack heel.
Modern and elegant, this collection’s new proportions, graphic contrasts and rich textures highlight Chloé’s fresh, confident style.
