Red Carpet Style from “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Part Two
From the expected appearances in Alexander McQueen to the rather unexpected, this year’s Met Gala had some surprises and inspirational looks for sure. Here’s a look at a few more highlights from the evening’s red carpet arrivals.

Actress Mia Wasikowska (above) was one of our top favorites of the event in scarlet red Prada that boasted a high neckline, a prim Schiaperelli inspired jet encrusted collar with a full skirt. It was wholely retro but completely in-tune with the girlish, Parisian naiveté that Miuccia Prada has been championing for over a decade and completely on-trend.
Other notable looks came from Jessica Biel in an elegant ivory Prada number festooned with signature ornamentations, Rooney Mara in a lace one-shouldered Givenchy Haute Couture dress and musician Florence Welch in a bell-sleeved McQueen number that was bonkers yet somehow brilliant thanks to rigorous beading and a fearless attitude.

Actress Diane Kruger was another top fave on the red carpet that evening in sublime violet Prada. Her gown was voluminous and punctuated by unexpectedly placed feathers bordering the hem yet she looked relaxed and comfortable, most of all. Her natural mane and boho length pendant necklace saved the look from bordering on too precious like an up-do could have. She looks cool and thoroughly modern, and was a definite standout.
