Fall / Winter 2010-2011

Runway Review: Set in the Ace Hotel, DKNY’s Men’s Fall 2010 outing was festive with a collection that felt as contemporary as it’s location.
Citing a “Rugged Modern” theme, the line was filled with modern updates on classic sportswear with all the innovative trappings you’d expect from DKNY. Bonded water-resistant fabrics, rubber finishes, and magnetic closures were added to the labels timeless favorites while a natty, trim proportion and clever styling gave the looks a gentle ease.
And while tucking the pant leg into the chunky sock has become one of Men’s Fall 2010 biggest styling tricks, here it only added the over-all effect that was cool, confident, sharp and above all, refreshingly simple.
It also happens to be a remarkable feat for a men’s line to have such wide appeal with such a disciplined focus that doesn’t think too much of the past, or the future for that matter. — Naveed Hussain, Vagabond NYC
