European Flair with Style Muse Sylvie van der Vaart
Euro Summer Chic Starts With a Long Scarf. European Flair with Style Muse Sylvie van der Vaart
There is that certain Euro flair that makes dressing for the hottest summer days look so chic and polished. Many of us would skimp on fashion to beat the heat, but Euro girls know just how to accessorize in very chic way without sacrificing style.
What’s the classic European secret to summer style? Accessories, namely a scarf!
Let’s look at style muse Sylvie van der Vaart and how she worked a casual summer shopping outfit to look so hot, and not in a temperature kind of way. First, she is wearing a very simple and beautifully colored periwinkle blue loose-fitting eyelet top with a bleached denim mini– nothing that out of the ordinary for a hot day.
Then Sylvie added a classic beige Chanel bag with a chain strap. Yes, that is undoubtedly chic but almost any chain strap classic bag in a neutral color would work- the chain strap is in style at the moment. She topped off the look with blue-tinted aviator glasses, a large men’s metal bracelet watch, some stringy bracelets, including what looks like a red Kaballah string, and then some blue flats. The whole look is very basic and classic.
But then there is the pop of long scarf that is magic!
Sylvie’s long and lightweight white scarf with a touch of a pastel print instantly pumps up her style quotient and is worn in a loose and carefree way that is neither too warm or too heavy for summer.
Get the Look:
Take a long scarf in cotton or chiffon and twist it once around to create interest. Place the scarf horizontally with its center in front of your neck, cross the ends over the back, and let the ends hang naturally in the front. Voila, so chic and casual!
