Dream a little with Haute Couture Fall 2013 runway highlights for wedding, bridal, formal and special occasion inspiration. Take note now from Bouchra Jarrar, Christian Dior, Martin Margiela and Valentino
Listen, I can almost bet that not one of us can ever afford a true haute couture gown. That’s ok. There’s a rare madame somewhere who can and a celebrity who will borrow it.
Why pay attention to haute couture? Why bother worrying over the latest designs for the jet-set? Especially when most of us will never even see let alone own such a decadent budget buster?

And when you’re looking to dress up, why not look to the best so you can try and make the best with what you’ve got? And there was plenty to dream big with from these Haute Couture Fall 2013 standouts…

Attention to craft in the most unexpected applications has always been a trademark of the atelier at Maison Martin Margiela and the decadent beadwork on hand paid homage to the craft work of the Art Deco era. Take note of these intricate floral references on the elegance of the eastern world as they’ve been popping up everywhere and can be easy enough to find at friendlier prices. Leave the masks to those on stage…
In the world of couture, Bouchra Jarrar makes the most sensible day clothes and her ivory brigade was full of enviable office and cocktail attire. Highlights here were billowy color blocked chiffon dresses and crystal beaded toppers.

Designer Raf Simon’s sent a mad mix of cultural references down his runway which made for an exciting range of choices, from the restrained to techno -there was plenty to like. The looks were anything goes, and the details were sublime. Each look was punctuated with a design element that was bold and well articulated.
A color palette in camel, dark brown, gray and black shades looked perfectly suited for winter elegance at Valentino, where the collection had a fairytale romance. Its not often you can find a glamorous brown party dress, but our favorite was the pink hand beaded number above, which resembles a gorgeous heirloom rug.
