Runway Review: If you want a truly sexy LBD, you have come to the right designer.

Sexy. Bondage. Need I say more about the Fall 2012 collection from Herve Leger?! There is not a chance, with all the leather straps, anatomical seaming, and skin-tight dense knits, that a woman can wear one of these slammin’ dresses and NOT exude supreme sexiness. No way. This is the most bodycon one can get; besides the perfect fit there are cut-outs, cinched waists, and deep necklines that continue to drive the Herve Leger image of a total babe. The sophistication was amped up by a warm palatte of beiges, chestnut brown, with touches of metallic gold, a punch of red and coral, and of course black.

The sexiest LBD’s around.

With all the seaming and textural details, this is a line you could go-to to avoid tired LBD’s and go with a warm neutral dress with top cut-outs, or pieced in sequins, or boasting a fringed hem.

The stripy, cut-out leather vests (if there is enough material to even call them that!) added an aviator feel, or just a straight up S & M feel, and could be worn with your staple oversize sheer blouse and the skinny jeans you likely already own. There were also a few fitted, sexy moto jackets in black leather and snakeskin; but the big wins were the dresses.

The honest truth, and perhaps complaint, about the line is it’s only appropriate for those size 0-8. Therefore, the wearablilty is low; these are complete indulgence pieces for those who can pull them off. Well, that’s fashion – I am going to get myself one of these hot indulgences then!

I am always in jaw-dropping, eyebrow raising awe at this show season after season….ladies, you gotta get yourself into one of these dresses -after the gym! — Alix Kivlin
