WEAR IT NOW | Runway Review: Marc Jacobs is back in full form for Fall 2010 making his collection one of the week’s top highlights, if not the best collection of the week itself
After several hair-raising collections full of ostentatious complexities and unapologetic clutter, Marc Jacobs is back in full form for Fall 2010 making his collection one of the week’s top highlights, if not the best collection of the week itself.
Addressing fashion’s call for cleaner garb, Jacob’s was on the dot with a range that this time referenced his own quiet, well-studied girl of the past in a right-on-the money palette of sober pastels and grays.
While the collection tinged with a vaguely 70’s sweetness, it was updates on his love of the grunge era, evident with 20’s inspired devore velvet gowns, one worn under a chunky cable knit sweater and the 60’s that made this a stand-out.
Add to that a bevy of fantastic must-have coats in all varieties and suiting with a sweet school girl nonchalance, and you’ve got plenty of reason to start the decade anew. — Naveed Hussain, VagabondNYC
