“The Opening Ceremony Showroom departs New York and travels across the Atlantic to Paris in anticipation of the Fall/Winter 2010 men’s market.

Collection inspiration from the style and culture of modern France. Classic Breton sailor stripes, traditional French naval uniforms, European gypsies, 1968 student revolutionaries, and New Wave coolness”

In their words…

The Opening Ceremony Fall 2010 collection takes inspiration from the style and culture of modern France. Classic Breton sailor stripes, traditional French naval uniforms, European gypsies, 1968 student revolutionaries, and New Wave coolness influence the Fall/Winter first delivery offering. Opening Ceremony imagined an English counterpart to our young Frenchman: a long lost brother born and raised across the channel. In addition to nods toward traditional English style like tweed hunting gear, waxed jackets, and British military uniforms, the collection references a spectrum of Brit youth subcultures including suits in glam rock colors, Mod-inspired parkas for layering over slim jackets and trousers, subtle punk references like pyramid stud buttons, and skinhead fit jeans.
