In their words…

The summer 2013 See By girl travels the world in search of inspiration and the unexpected. This season, she will be stopping off at the great Californian deserts. Her trim, sunny look blends materials and colours with virtuosity. As comfortable with the great Chloe classics as with the new See By “it” garments (ultra-supple knits, high-waisted trousers, boyish jacket), this everyday heroine also loves to experience the movement and fast pace of the city. She dares to sport the total look with clashing prints and declares her love for strong, radical pieces. At times a cool intellectual, often sexy and assertive, she is also metallic and urban. A wardrobe with a masterful beat.

The emphasis is on the lower half of the figure. Straight, fitted, cropped trousers are also worn loose, adorned with broad tucks at the waist, or baggier with smocked pockets. The skirts are graphic when knitted and in pencil style and rest on the hips, emphasizing a high waist when they are in silk. Finally, the knitted leggings assert an entirely uninhibited look.

Moving up a notch, the materials are at times enveloping (wadded silk) or supple and light (marl knits worn as t-shirts, jumpers or jackets), and at other times create a second-skin effect (leather on trousers, track suits or shorts). Nor do they forget the essentials such as lightly washed denim. The cobra or checked prints elegantly injected into some of the season’s key pieces, a teddy-style jacket or a pair of straight, cropped trousers, meet other pieces with sleek lines and neutral colours toying with masculine-feminine aesthetics: a revisited suit jacket borrowed from the men’s collection, a kimono top with a modern twist.

The soft, nuanced colours (nude, orange-pink, terracotta…) are contrasted with stronger tones: Klein blue, fuchsia pink, blood red. Finally, featuring lamé fabric, a skirt with a gathered waist or a top and trousers set are this season’s outsiders, for a “metallic girl” look.

Focus on accessories. The pointed shoes (boots, pumps, or flat and strappy shoes) in patched metallic leather sparkle, creating a radical silhouette bursting with light. In tone-on-tone leather, the bowling or maxi-clutch bags totally blend into the look.
