The History of Valentino Goes Virtual- Valentino Unveils His Virtual Museum 12-5-11

Over the past few years we’ve seen an increasing number of designers and fashion house’s setting up career spanning retrospectives in storied museums in major cities around the globe from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Armani, Dior, YSL and even Yohji Yamamoto. Now comes one of the most innovative and accessible we’ve seen yet from none other than Valentino.

Where attendees once had to travel or even wait in long lines to catch a glimpse of fashion history before their eyes, Valentino has created what’s soon to be a revolution by letting fans and devotees take in various curated works that span his career with a simple flick of a mouse. And that’s absolutely genius.

After all, the internet may be an addictive way at garnering information while passing time, but much like fashion, it also boasts the capability to chronicle the times we live in permanently. And while one can’t see the real thing and the experience may differ as a whole, his virtual archives are certain to entertain and inspire a new generation for years to come. -Naveed Hussain
