Make the most of what you’ve got by mastering stylist skills to be the celebrity in your own life. I’ll show you how to get the look.
By “get it” I mean in the most transformational way. By understanding the nuances and spotting why it looks so great on a star. With that information, YOU can consider HOW to manifest it in your own life, on your own figure, and in your own budget.
You see, celebrity style isn’t about copycatting or fantasizing.
It’s about understanding why an outfit works and how to take that understanding into your daily life. I like to call that kind of celebrity style, I’ll Have What She’s Having.
We’ve pulled some of your favorite celebrity style posts in this style guide. All you have to do is to click on the headline and it will take you to the story to read more.
My evening with humanitarian and style icon Audrey Hepburn… This first I’ll Have What She’s Having post is a little different kind of celebrity style. It what happens when you are lucky enough to meet your style icon. For me, and so many other women, it is Audrey Hepburn.
Having someone to inspire your work is so important to manifest your own personal abundance. Finally, I found my misplaced 35 mm slide of Ms Hepburn and myself and had to share it with you. I don’t know about you but I think almost every woman (and man) of a certain age has been mesmerized by the allure of Audrey Hepburn.
Growing up with first runs and reruns of Audrey Hepburn movies left that certain something that made HER so special beyond compare.
Honestly, as a sometimes chubby kid in Brooklyn I was able to fantasize about the what seemed like far off glam and easy elegance that Ms.Hepburn oozed on film. Every outfit she wore, (oh, those black Capri pants), Givenchy or otherwise, on screen or off, left me wanting to one day grow up and have a smidgen of her grace and charm.
As a fashion stylist, her personal style– particularly off-screen in her later years– became an unconscious reference point to how I define timeless elegance.
I know it’s late in the season and you may not want to buy another summer item, especially if the sale isn’t too great.
I get it. Me too.
But, what if you found a versatile dress (maybe even in your own closet), that happens to be a LBD to make life easier, and always looks chic AND is transitional into the next season?
I’ll Have What She’s Having: Grown-up gorgeous in down-to-earth and polished jeans. Crazy that what so many of us wear so often can be impossible to pull off– with style. Don’t fret.

You gotta love the headline, “Celebrities in jeans looking normal” because rather than oohing and ahhing about a fantasy gown or talking about their bodily (im)perfections, let’s look at what celebrities wear when they are just being normal.
Duhhh, it looks a lot like us.
When we start to struggle with our figure & style it’s best to discover a body type muse for some style inspiration. I chose Salma Hayak as the muse for my reader who wants to know how to dress a petite hourglass figure. Read on…

I’ll Have What She’s Having: A voluminous scarf and a menswear hat to effortlessly glam up the most basic outfit.
It REALLY is that easy. Getting out of the house sometimes, can be an effort in itself. Particularly, on those down low, kick back (ha!), whirlwind of errands and mommydom days. Or maybe, just a work at home, no one sees me until, crap, I have to go out and look good kind of day.
Oh yeah, for many of us this kind of day is far more realistic than a pair of stilettos and a slinky sheath. On the dressier side, it’s almost by route, You pull a perfectly fitting dress off a hanger, add some gorgeous shoes. Off you go.
Casual. Oy. That get’s complicated. But, it doesn’t have to.
Don’t believe me look at total mommy chic bliss by way of Alicia Keys, pictured at the top. Saucy perfection with two grab as you walk out the door accessories: a big scarf and a guy’s hat.
Still not convinced on how to keep your jeans looking classy? Take style tips from Kate Middleton and Diane Kruger– ladies that practically own this denim look. Pair a fun printed top with a pair of colored skinny jeans, or stick with a more refined look like Kate Middleton’s with a solid blazer. TIP: Ankle length jeans with heels are great for women with shorter legs, as this look will elongate legs. Don’t have scrunched up denim that is too long– stand tall without the excess fabric.
Breaking away from traditional black garb, Jessica Biel surely helped instigate nude tones again. She truly glowed in this nude dress complimented with nude heels. Did you notice that bright red lipstick? We did too.
So you’ve got your denim, nude going-out dress and now you don’t know what to do with your hair. Kate Beckinsale has an unkempt style that will keep your look effortless.
If you aren’t a fan of loose hair, try something a little more kept like Emma Stone’s hairstyle. With half curls and a side part, hair is easy to manage and still looks styled.
Diane Kruger is at it again! The leather style is ever-so-popular and plastered all over the runway. Of course, Diane makes wearing a leather skirt look so EASY. But, it can be! The photo pictured below features a skater style leather skirt; however, if you are curvier, try a fitted leather (or pleather!) pencil skirt and tuck in a feminine silk or chiffon style blouse. Mix edgy with sweet like Diane.
Nicole Kidman had it easy with this look at the Cannes Film Festival. A red dress (with a side slit!) and chic D’Orsay pumps. These pumps are perfect for any night out. Keep it simple and structured with this look and you can’t go wrong. Nicole Kidman is walking proof.
Sexy pleats and a bow blouse… Oh la la! Emmy Rossum keeps it classy on the streets as she struts her stuff in this deep red pleated skirt. Try pairing a flirty sandal or heel with a skirt like this one. –Curated by Jaclyn Umenhofer
