I had a fast but intense trip to Cali.
There is nothing that sparks brilliance in you then to be in the company of genius.
As I started to transcend FocusOnStyle and my business in general from being a stylist advice online magazine to helping others expand their personal and professional growth on a deeper level with programs and mentoring, I turned first to Brendon Burchard’s events and programs to try to figure out how that type of business works.
Since then, I have studied with many top online business household names, and as well as being in some very high-level and elite business masterminds and speaker coaching programs. I pass that knowledge on to my students, clients and readers, along with my three-decades of professional expertise. There’s no doubt that I am a constant student of life and business.
But I was feeling a void.
I knew there was a nuance that wasn’t being addressed. I could just feel it.
So I turned to Brendon’s breath of knowledge (Oprah turns to him for online programs for starters) and hopped on a plane for a quick trip to California for his World’s Greatest Speaker Conference to learn from the best: Roger Love (voice coach to just about every celebrity you can think of), Bo Eason (NFLer turned master storyteller and movement coach mentored by Al Pacino), and Chalene Johnson (OMG, the queen of infomercials, Guinness record holder for the most fitness videos, and marketing maven who does live video naturally like nobody’s business).
The spark is back!
What I felt I needed more of were subtitles, nuances, the little things that make speaking more elegant, more conversational, more engaging… the things that raise the bar.
I feel charged .
When you feel something that you want more of, I encourage you to find mentors, conferences, workshops, books, podcasts… whatever it takes so that you can feel full and constantly expand yourself.
Resting on your laurels is not the path to success, it’s the path to stagnation.
Go do it… get your mastery on!

I have a special love for the media. I grew up in a household where my mother read about seven newspapers every day. My degree is in Marketing/PR, and I started out in public relations. My work and I have been in the media nearly 1,000 and I even had a syndicated newspaper column. There is nothing that puts you in a position of authority and the right media placement- big or small.
