The FocusOnStyle team of Alix, Naveed, Brad and myself have been busy covering New York Fashion Week and although each of us has a slightly different P.O.V, our universal voice is here to help each of you get inspired to bring a little bit of new style into your life- can-do chic as I like to call it!
While we’ve reported some of the best Spring 2013 shows that we’ve seen this week with runway reviews, fashion show coverage, backstage beauty, we wanted to take a moment to encapsulate a few F-A-S-H-I-O-N and real wear trends to inspire your can-do chic wardrobe from a few more collections. Here’s Naveed’s take on some of the other shows that we don’t want you to miss.

Thakoon-
After a few extreme stylized collections Thakoon was back with a winning opening of a bird-cage printed dress that made way for a light outing heady with feminine spirit.
What looked fresh here were thoroughly modern takes on ultra-sweet, girlie connotations that should keep the series age-appropriate as each look possessed a modern wearability and contemporary edge.
Jil Sander Navy-
The team at Jil Sander Navy had another hit on their hands while playing with an elegant silhouette that worked away from the body with bell and tulip shapes that emphasized the line’s use of techno fabrics, color-blocking and print.
Punctuating each look was a wedge shoe that came in covetable mary-jane, sandal and lace-up iterations making them one of the city’s top footwear options.

Calvin Klein-
Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa delivered a sultry range that played with sculptural form around the bust while taking full advantage of his signature fabric plays.
Next season chez Calvin is all about the bust with new ways to highlight the decolletage in all its glory. The look was ultimately sexy and light in all the right kind of ways.
Narciso Rodriguez-
Spring 2013 saw one of the best collections ever from Narciso Rodriguez. Chalk full of minimal, closet constants, he delivered dresses and separates so down-right pretty, we can’t think of a gal they wouldn’t work wonders on.
Here, plays on contrasts worked to highlight the body while asserting an architectural ease that was elegant and oh so tasteful. Standouts were a pair of ivory and black color-blocked trousers, a slew of color-blocked sheath dresses and two-tone wedge sandals that looked too cool.
