Beautiful Fall- Valentino Fall 2012 Menswear

It's no secret that we're big fans of the direction Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have taken Valentino since taking the helm of the storied house a few years ago and their latest outing for Fall 2012 men's wear was another remarkable achievement of masterful tailoring updated with a subtle sense of subversion. While the base of the collection was a dashing yet familiar classic suit, collared shirt and tie, jackets and outerwear were updated in sculpted cocoon shapes and color-blocking and featured dropped shoulders, contrasting fabrications and collar tabs that allowed for coats to be worn elegantly over the shoulders. This lent the collection a thoroughly modern appeal that was original, while a moody color palette kept it

Chloe Pre-Fall 2012- The bar is set

Chloe Pre-Fall 2012
Chloe Pre-Fall 2012 There's no secret that we are fans of Chloe at FoS. Under the new creative direction of Clare Waight Keller, the directional message from  a go-to label continues to shine. The reason: Chloe continually delivers wearable, uber stylish clothes that are flattering on a modern woman, and this time around, more stream-lined. to smart wardrobe building. Take for instance, the red dress pictured left. It continues the figure-friendly long, lean pleated dresses from spring. The silhouette moves away from the body with a soft double weight for early fall in a very cheery, brilliant shade of tomato red; a perfect accomplice to the warm skin tone shades in the rest of the collection and a boost to your complexion! Paired with perfectly sculpted

Behind the Scenes at Alexander McQueen- The Beauty, the Splender, the Drama

"I was thinking about a woman as an object of desire. We go to such lengths to adorn ourselves that we almost become our clothes or are taken over by them. This is a collection about excess - an exploration of ideals of beauty at their most extreme." - Sarah Burton, Creative Director of Alexander McQueen How often do we have the rare chance to be mesmerized by the beauty and intimacy of a collection so magical? Sit back and inhale the luxury of this exclusive backstage footage of Sarah Burton and the Alexander McQueen team preparing for the Spring/Summer 2012 runway show during Paris Fashion Week-captured in a short film created by filmmaker Sean Frank. London Fashion Visits NY- The Best of London S/S 2012 at The London Show Rooms

Naveed and I popped by The London Show Rooms in New York last week to take a close-up and intimate look at some of London's brightest designers. As always, we were mesmerized with the up close privilege of ogling at some incredible construction, innovative design, and left with a wish list days long from the generous talent of these young designers from "across the pond."  I guessed right on wanting to see  Cate Blanchette wear Felicity Brown, as, ironically, she's the line's muse. From my lips to Cate's next red carpet would be divine! --S.H. Shortly after the rigid snooze-fest that we've come to think of New York Fashion Week as comes to a wrap comes The London Show Rooms, an annual

Kate Middleton wears a rather bare dress for her and it looks amazing

Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge Attends 'In Kind Direct' Charity Event At Clarence House
p.s.. It's not from this season! It's a First Lady and Royal day here at Fos today. I have to say that we've kept our pledge of only covering the looks that we feel are worth the second notice and offer something that YOU can take away. Kate Middleton stepped out for her first solo engagement as a royal yesterday and the blogosphere was aflutter about a perceived mark that was thought to be that of hair extensions. Instead, according to the dailymail.co.uk, "The spokesman for the Duchess at St James’s Palace confirmed last night that it was the result of surgery as a young child. ‘The scar related to a childhood operation,’ they said." Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge Attends 'In

Isabel Toledo Spring 2012 Runway Collection In Miami

Besides having Michelle Obama as one of her most ardent celebrity clients, Cuban-born designer Isabel Toledo has been wowing critics and fashion fans including yours truly since she began her eponymous line in the mid-80's with her artisinal-minded, avant-garde confections and her deliberately off-the-radar cult of personality. MORE: FASHION SHOWS AND RUNWAY REVIEWS Leave it to Toledo to debut her Spring 2012 collection just weeks after the fashion-show season has ended and all the way down in Miami...Miami?
