It’s another one of those all-points bulletins for celebrity sightings out East
Sweeties, Breathless Brad Boles has been roaming about with more dish to share… S.H.
Meow, meow, it may be Gay Night but there are some be-atchy boyz out there..
Gosh, I know I can have a sharp tongue but I never make the obvious rude attempt to talk about someone behind his or her back when they are actually right smack in front of me. So tacky.
I started my evening off dining at Almond in Bridgehampton with my ever-fabulous friend Lauren Arpel who is no stranger to the world of beauty and some other friends. Then the cattiness ensued…
To my shock, I was recognized from “The Real Housewives of New York City” by a pack of be-atchy queens!
The place was all a flutter with crazed hairdressers and their tired comments. A table within earshot was LOUDLY dishing—rudely—about ALL the RHONYC ladies. Some mad queen even demanded to know where Lauren got her blowout and really started snipping his scissor tongue at all of us! Get a life, Blanche!
And, we’re outta there…
We made it out of there within an inch of our lives and their Tom of Finland tanks, then headed to Madame Tong’s in Southampton where we bumped into Mary Alice Stephenson– the fab fashion consultant. She joined us for a few rounds on the dance floor. You must know that I can’t dance from Season 2… what a sight it must have been, but I had fun!
Super Saturday shop until you drop for a cause:
The next morning was the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s 12th annual Super Saturday event hosted by Donna Karan, along with Kelly Ripa and all The Kardashians.
I was not able to attend but my buddy Rob Rich, the celebrity photographer, covered the event. Rob said it was a great turnout with Gayle King, Christie Brinkley, Beth Ostrosky and other Hamptons regulars in attendance, but Rob did not see a single Housewife from the show!
Gayle showed up in force this weekend for Super Saturday and that means a lot to all those supporters of a great cause– not to mention that Oprah loves all things charity-based that give back to better the world. I had the pleasure of meeting Gayle King about 10 years ago when she did a feature article on Denise Rich and her G&P foundation. Denise’s annual Angel Ball has raised millions of dollars for leukemia.
Kelly Ripa, as sweet as ever, and equally there for a special cause, made a sweltering day worth it for a bargain and to share support.
Off to The Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field in Bridgehampton where it seems Michael Lohan and I now have a history! This time, he showed up with a bevy of beauties on his arms just as I arrived. … hummm.
I also ran into NY Housewives’ Alex McCord, and Simon van Kempen with their boys. Hug, hug, kiss, kiss!
Rachel Zoe was spotted at Polo with an entourage big enough to fill an Escalade. Her fabulous heels were insanely high to be wearing on a dirt floor— hats off to her for pulling it off!
Cocktails were flowing in the SWAGG lounge when I saw Edie Falco. I asked her what she thought of this year’s Super Saturday she told me she had a few bags in the car… great shopping
On Saturday night Stephen Klein was hosting a benefit in is home. It was rumored that Madonna was on her way, which would be a bit difficult as she’s supposed to be in Paris directing her movie, W.E., perhaps the rumor was started from the be-atchy boys at Gay Night.
Summer fashion tips for the ladies…
Let’s talk about baggy pants. If you are going to work the man pants trend, please do it with a sexy tank in a solid color to create shape, and pair with Grecian sandals…perfect.
Undie Advice: Drop the thong and go commando! Thongs aren’t pretty poking out when you bend over to pick up the dog leash.
Do you girls know what color blocking is? Contrasting sleeves and wide stripes, think Debbie Harry and Stephen Sprouse from the 80’s. The look is back and best when worn with a skinny jean, strappy heel, and a sexy fedora for a menswear touch.
Rompers, I know you are seeing them everywhere this summer as they define easy breezy. PUH-LEEZE be smart and avoid this kiddy trend unless you really are a hot twenty-something.
Our metrosexual style guy is getting hitched…
Sorry, no metrosexual men’s fashion tips from Rob Siegel this week. My guy is off to the Caribbean for the Big Day! We at FocusOnStyle wish Rob, and soon-to-be bride Cori Pirlik, a perfect wedding and a beautiful future. Of course my heart is broken but Cori promises to find me a reasonable facsimile!
See you out East. And how was your weekend? — Brad Boles
