With all the insane streams of money coming her way, Kim K still manages to look cheap.
We get celebrity style pr tip sheets of almost every celebrity and celebutard that you can imagine wearing something or another.
Usually they end upon the trash, but this time I couldn’t bear not to share this Kim Kardashian “celebrity style” alert as it’s so tacky that I’ve got to hope no one out there wants to make it stick.
We all know that the Kardashian klan own a batch of boutiques, but did she have to wear the entire accessory department all at once?
In defense of the Boulee Brynn dress, it’s perfectly lovely in its BoHo styling, uneven hemline, and “Downtown” print (yes, that’s its name). It would probably be a go-to piece to wear on days when you want something loose and on trend. It even has a downtown edge that lives up to the name of its print. That is until it gets into Kim K’s over-accessorized hands.
What Kim did wrong…
I don’t care if those thigh-high stiletto boots have a red sole or not, they look sleazy with a short skirt and bare legs. If Kim wanted to pull off thigh-highs, although a bit five minutes ago on the style scene, she should opt for wearing them with tucked in black skinny jeans or with very opaque black hose to create a more elegant and longer leg.
The Boulee dress photographed on what we are guessing is a much taller model than tiny Kim, has the asymmetrical hemline right above the top of the model’s knee. Kim has it hiked up so that the button is blowing open right below her crotch… nothing more to say.
The big floppy hat is ridiculously oversized for her petite, though curvy, frame, and in combination with her “done” hair, it’s all just too much. A hat that is more in proportion to her would be better and, anyway, it’s accessory overload when paired with those boots.
Her black belt is very nice on its own and I get that Kim wants to cinch in her tiny waist, but the belt is far to heavy for a breezy silky dress and breaks the ensemble’s line.
Yes, the clutch bag is chic on its own but too structured and hard for this boho silky dress and better served when worn with tailored pieces.
How I would style this Boulee dress…
I would honor its BoHo edgy styling and pair it with modern, off-handed pieces that don’t interfere with its drape.
Either a loser fitting legging or Citizens of Humanity Elson Straight Leg Jeans would do the trick.
If you wanted to wear the dress on its own, I’d wear very matte and dark opaque tights and a pair of stacked heel, more edgy yet casual boots like these ONE by Daniblack Ramada Stovepipe Boots.
I’d opt for a muted color bag that is both soft and compliments the graphic edge of the hemline, like this MM6 Maison Martin Margiela Leather Bag.
As far as hair and makeup goes, with something this breezy, more “undone” hair and natural makeup look the most modern… but that is just not Kardashian style… hope it’s yours!
