The annual White House Easter Egg Roll is a family must for the little ones!
I received a pr head’s up about the 1950’s inspired yellow floral Tracy Reese dress that First Lady Michelle Obama wore at yesterday’s White House Easter Egg Roll.
It got me thinking about our family trips to Washington, D.C. and our time at the annual event on the Great Lawn of the White House.
For our time at the White House Easter Egg Roll, Bill and Hill made their entrance from a balcony. Janet Reno read from a children’s book.
Festive fun and a patriotic sense of oneness ensued. Somewhere, we still have the banner from the event and some other souvenir mementos from that very memorable opportunity to play on the White House lawn and share a part of history.
We did intend to return for another White House Easter Egg Roll while my son was small, but frankly, the idea of John Ashcroft reading from a children’s book is not my idea of a good time!
Yesterday, the Obama’s did portray a sense of the Great American Family, particularly in the style of full-skirt, knee length dress that the First Lady chose to wear for the occasion.
