Odd Molly- Spring 2011 Fashion Show for Sexy and Sweet Boudoir Femininity

Runway Review: The sexy and sweet boudoir look is so fun for spring, and especially in these soft champagne and rose colors

Playing up the feminine side of dressing has been a key feature at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and the young line Odd Molly certainly wasn’t going to take a backseat in that department.

I will never look down on a girly line, but there is an extreme that Odd Molly hovers on and I feel these delicate, super feminine pieces are best worn pared down, in small doses.

Thin knits with shimmering gold were lovely compliments to the silk and lace dresses and rompers. The sexy and sweet boudoir look is so fun for spring, and especially in these soft champagne and rose colors, but there is an age limit on wearing that.

Age limit as in young only so it doesn’t go trashy! I loved the ombre dying techniques used and the silk patchwork which gave it a very vintage feel. Lots of little silk booty shorts that look so cute on but we all know it’s impossible to pull off.

One of my favorite pieces was a light charcoal sweater with gold and platinum sequins on the front – could be dressed up or down and look beautiful.

In the accessories area the girls were rather clean, but a flash of florescent pink hair added some edge to the girliness. The gold knit thigh high socks were my favorite!

Behind the show Sean Lennon and his band played while the young and smiling models pranced down the runway in. It felt like a pillow fight could break out at any moment given the scene and overall feel. — Alix Kivlin
