Runway Edit: New York Fashion Week Trends To Wear Now // Fall 2017

Why wait until Fall 2017 to update your look?

The secret to being seen as a success is showing up looking ahead of the curve. Sure, we can wait until next fall (or the few goodies that are available right off the catwalk) to get what is on the runway now, but why? I’m all about finding the nuance, adapting the trend, going for the big picture with what’s in store right now.

I’ve edited my favorite trends from New York Fashion Week Fall 2017 runways that you can consider at this moment… you may not even have to go far, it could just be a way of rethinking some pieces that you already own. I know, I can’t wait to wear these looks, how abut you?

RICH COLOR, ESPECIALLY CLEAR RED, FUCHSIA + BURGUNDY

Basic black is definitely a perennial for chic but clear, rich colors are right on trend. These are vivid classic colors that will work for seasons to comes. Add a piece or two to brighten up your neutrals.

FABULOUS SLEEVES

Last season, it was off the shoulder but right now it is all about a delicious, volumninous and feminine sleeve.  Not the best for big busted ladies, so you’ll have to focus on volume at the cuff… don’t worry, there are plenty of gorgeous styles out there.

WIDE LEG PANTS

Glamorous wide leg pants are perfect for a dressier look and add a little tzuj to a pantsuit. Balance the full leg with a plentiful sleeve and fairly fitted top to stay in proportion.

SINGLE BREAST MAN’S JACKET

VICTORIA BECKHAM; VIA

One of my all time favorite jacket styles gets an unexpected twist when paired with something feminine.

COLORED VELVET

TIBI; PRE-ORDER AT MODA OPERANDI

Velvet looks oh so right again, especially when in an unexpected blast of color. Note the 80s style pumps that remind me of back in the day Maude Frizon.

CLASSIC STATEMENT COATS

Investing in a fantastic coat will serve you for seasons to come.  But why not add a twist of something classic for that extra dose of style? I’m crazy for the arm slits in the camel Michael Kors number above.

VINTAGE FAUX FUR

From 70s inspired colored faux fur chubbies to more elegant furry toppers, the fuzzy-wuzzy coat adds that extra special touch of glam to any outfit.
