Thank Chanel for your clog dancing beats!
Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
We’ve been spotting clogs and clog boots with street style cred for a few seasons.
We’ve been stocking up our Cool Clogs Shop, when whenever we see a wood-soled wonder that looks right.
And now it’s official- Chanel showed clogs on the spring 10 runway and they have morphed into a must-have trend for fashonistas and the comfort-seeking alike.
??But we did tell you…
Clogs have got to be one of those styles that should be the dictionary picture of anti-cool, anti-fashion, bedraggled mommy, utilitarian nurse, cook, or server footwear of choice.
But when the clog gets a bit of design inspiration, it’s utilitarian chic, much in the same vain of the perfect pair of jeans, a military jacket, Wellies, or an oxford shirt— they are timeless chic and always right. When the cut is just the right way.
How to do it wrong you ask?
Frump it down. Utilitarian chic works best when it’s the only played down element to an otherwise styled and polished outfit. Then, you look cool and not frumpy.
