TOMS Style Your Sole shoes for a perfect kid for kid party

Everyone likes a little DIY creativity in their life…

Creating something uniquely hand-painted with the added benefit of helping children in need is the best win-win all around.

Add the chronic mommy issue of trying to come up with a special idea for the next children’s birthday party and I’ve got the perfect party solution -kids helping kids.

To celebrate the TOMS Summer 2012 Collection, I was invited to the brand’s Style Your Sole party. I got to thinking that this was a fantastic idea for a Kids for Kids children’s party as for every pair purchased, TOMS will give a pair of shoes to a child in need. One for One, and your little ones can get in on the act.

I invited my son to test the waters (mixed with paint, of course) out. Nothing better than a fellow kid– although mine is getting BIG– share some first hand get-yourself-messy-while-having-fun time. His work in progress is below and my DIY design is at the upper left.

The idea was a hit and you should try it out too. You can visit TOMS to learn more about Style Your Sole Parties…. maybe even for your fashionista friends too because you are never too young or too old to share a charitable deed.

TOMS One Day Without Shoes:

Today, April 10th, is the TOMS annual One Day Without Shoes event that raises awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life.

Millions of children around the world grow up without shoes, at risk of infection and disease. TOMS Shoes was founded on the premise that with every pair of shoes someone purchases, a pair of new shoes will be given to a child in need. One for One™.

The idea of One Day Without Shoes came about as a way to call attention to the need for shoes around the world and the issues surrounding that need. More at www.OneDayWithoutShoes.com
