Sheer Skirts-

Make it Yours: Although a sheer skirt instantly shouts ‘don’t try this at home,’ many of London’s key designers have taken the skirt heavy season into sheer territory. But we happen to think they simply highlight many of the collections gorgeous embroideries and advanced techniques, so we suggest getting a proper slip come Spring.

Diagonal Paneled Dresses-

Make it Yours: In a season that appears to be dedicated to re-thinking the skirt, a slew of architectural head turners have made their mark on the London circuit. Take J.W Anderson’s white skirt set above, while pool slides and an X-Girl silhouette pay homage to the 90’s, stark white and origami panels give the look an irresistible edge.

Botanical Party Frocks-

Make it Yours: Floral prints and embroideries may be a banal mark of spring fashion, but in London, designer’s offered some of the most brilliant iterations we’ve seen yet. From Christopher Kane literally emblazoning chiffon numbers with the words ‘flower’ & ‘botanical’ to Roksanda Ilincic’s intricate decorations, going for something floral should never conjure Laura Ashley again. Just keep in mind that the quickest way to keep a floral piece seem au currant is to drop the romance factor and keep it modern.

Matte, Grown-Up Pastels-

Make it Yours: While many of the New York shows were awash in white, London can stake it’s claim on making pastels seem approachable and unassuming as the season continues in a minimal direction. Take Osman’s asymmetrical skirt paired with an off-set printed top as a credible example on how you can revive pastels for the now. What works is the skirts low-key hue and matte fabrication. As always, the trick is to make something classic look anew, and it works above.
