Grammy Fashion: The Best, The Worst & The Most Ridiculous in 3 Dresses: Rihanna, Nicky Minaj, and Katy Perry

Rihanna in Armani
The good, the riduclous (but appropriate), and the bad... First off, I feel like a cousin got married on Long Island and I wasn't invited to the celebration. What is with all the sequin dresses? Ladies and stylists, this is the Grammy's, it's THE music awards, please not dress yourselves like you are going to a family affair. Have fun, take a dare, stand out and look glamourous, and 86 the damn sequins. MORE: Red Carpet Fashion The Best:  Rihanna, who is not always the best dressed in my opinion, looked absolutely STUNNING in a collaboration that she said she designed with Giorgio Armani as a homage to Michelle Pfieffer's style in Scarface. Rihanna's new blonde hair, the deep plunge,

Kate Middleton wears a very Mad Men dress & makes it NOT look stuffy

Styling Tips how you can too... Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge stepped out solo last night in London for the opening of the Lucien Freud Portraits Exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. MORE: Kate Middleton Style  Her VERY 1950's Mad Men style dress referenced the open portrait shawl collar dresses that Queen Elizabeth wore in the 1950's. The full-skirt, elbow-length sleeves, and shawl collared styling of Kate Middleton's Jesire number, a High-Street brand that we aren't finding online, could be stuffy and downright dowdy if not worn the right way. Frankly, the obvious 1950's styling can look a bit too costumey and the Mad Man fashion moment is on the wane for copycat styling references. But, if you want to wear the look, here's

Tuxedo Tips- Guys, here’s the ONE time you can all look (sort of) like George Clooney!

Men's Style Advice: Can I ditch the cummerbund and pleated tuxedo shirt and go more modern?  Dear Sharon: I saw your site “Focus on Style,” I'm not sure if you answer men's questions but here goes. I have a standard, two-button, notch lapel black tuxedo that I wear to weddings (I'm 27 so I go to at least one wedding a month these days) with an eight-pleat shirt and cummerbund/bow tie. Pretty much your standard tux. However, I hate the fit of the shirt and the feel of a cummerbund. I would like to get a new formal shirt without pleats, and just a formal necktie (black or pewter or something like that). My question is - do I need to

Madonna’s Half-Time in Givenchy was THE Superbowl of Costume

Lady Gaga who? 53 is the new forever. Madonna shut the door as the Queen of Glam Pop in a Super Bowl halftime performance that included songs dating back to the Walkman days and right up to future present with the (like she needed it) help of Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., Cee Lo Green, and LMFAO. (Update: Watch the video below) SEE: Dressing room photos of the Gladiators One smart cookie to not let anyone outshine her on stage with the exception of some very fabulous costumes, this time all designed by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. Opening with a gold cape hand-embroidered with gold metal cut out pieces, studs, crystals, sequins and paillettes and lined in leopard-print chiffon, accompanied by a Philip Treacy headpiece.

Best of Red Carpet Fashion- Screen Actor’s Guild Awards

Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci
Another Sunday, another awards show. The Screen Actor's Guide Awards is a bit different from the rest because attending actors don't try to ridiculously outdo on another as with the Oscars, or add the extra zing as with the Golden Globes. The SAG Awards is as low-key as a red carpet can get, and with that comes some of the most elegant, prettiest dresses that don't 'wear' the wearer... in other words, more class, less schmaltz. MORE: Red Carpet We've highlighted some of the best dressed from last night's awards as an inspiration board of trends for you to think about the next time you REALLY need to go formal. This isn't about fantasy, or novelty, but  about pretty, chic dresses with actresses looking modern,

Wacky Wonders- The Cuchini eliminates camel toe

I'm never a fan of gimmicks, but some novelties do make me giggle. In an effort to pass on a quick smirk, I've decided that from time-to-time I will share  my own version of Anderson Cooper's Ridiculist or  David Letterman's Stupid Pet Tricks starting with... A camel toe barrier, called The Cuchini! Ok, for those of you who wear pants that are too short in the rise (morning after Chinese food bloat could be a temporary culprit), there's now a device to "smooth the ridges of a woman’s mons pubis area providing a smooth and camouflaged appearance," hence, ending hideous camel toe and a possible trip to the gyno for some yeasty infection. I wonder if one should wear it

Banana Republic Clones “the” Kate Middleton Reiss Dress

Adventures in (not very) extremes... Remember the beige "Shola" Reiss dress that Kate Middleton wore to meet Michelle Obama? It's "the" $340 dress that stalled the Reiss server? Well, apparently Banana Republic didn't forget it and came out with their own version aptly named the "Kate Sheath" as imitation is surely the sincerest form of flattery. The BR version sells for $130. The Kate Sheath at Banana Republic SHOP: BEST DRESSESHonestly, Banana Republic is a fantastic resource for go-to modern basics so blatantly "reworking" a dress from Reiss, a very close competitor on the obtainable fashion front does seems strange. At least the dress fit Kate better than those pink pants on Pippa. We know, it's Kate Middleton's dress that they were
