Haute Couture Inspiration- Schiaparelli Paris Spring/Summer 2015

On this snowy New York day, nothing could be more uplifting that the divine wit and whimsy from the Schiaparelli Paris Haute Couture Spring 2015 Collection shown during Paris Couture Fashion Week. The collection called “Reflections of Elsa” is described as "an ode to self-confidence" with surrealist touches in homage to Elsa Schiaparelli like trompe l’oeil hands that close a crystal star necklace. Notice the flats worn with the very fabulously flamboyant pieces. There really is something magical about this collection, don't you think? MORE: Runway and Schiaparelli In In their words... Schiaparelli Paris Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2015  “Reflections of Elsa” Elsa Schiaparelli introduced her “Stop, Look & Listen” collection in January 1935 when she moved into her new couture house located 21 place Vendôme. John Galliano for Maison Margiela. Discuss.

John Galliano For Maison Margilea, "Artisinal" 2015
John Galliano for Maison Margiela I have mixed feelings about this. To start, I'm a Margiela fan and probably wear a piece in some form or another, from one of the collections, almost every day, starting with the 14 pairs of shoes & boots that are in the front rotation of my closet. John Galliano for Maison Margiela 'Artisanal' Show 2015 I love the understated and edgy appeal. I love the non-showiness of pieces that withstand time and always look current. I love the deconstructed "secret" white threads that have the same appeal to me as a red sole or giant gold monogram have for others. John Galliano for Maison Margiela 'Artisanal' Show 2015 Then there's John Galliano, a showman

Shocking in Paris! Schiaparelli Haute Couture, why not?

I don't know about you, but my day certainly could use some fantasy, frivolousness, whimsy, and eccentric charm. Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week is generally a gorgeous snooze fest since Christian Lacroix no longer shows. But Marco Zanini in his second Schiaparelli Haute Couture foray for Fall/Winter 2014-15 embraces the flamboyant legacy of the designer who put shocking pink on the map. MORE: Runway We've got all the Schiaparelli couture photos here for you to drool over. Don't worry, none of us can probably ever afford these couture pieces, but we can't afford to not consider to add a little zing to our outfit. I'm loving the fashion flashback of the shocking pink palazzo pants, above, that remind me of a Norma Kamali
